Art Basel, one of the world’s most prestigious contemporary art fairs, is expanding its global footprint with the official launch of a new edition in Qatar, set to debut in February 2026 in the capital city of Doha.
Announced on Tuesday, the inaugural Art Basel Qatar will be held in partnership with MCH Group (Art Basel’s parent company), Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), and QC+, a dynamic cultural commerce collective dedicated to fostering creative industries in the region. This marks a significant milestone, bringing the fair’s globally celebrated platform for modern and contemporary art to the heart of the Middle East.
The event is slated to take place at M7 and across the Doha Design District in Msheireb, an area renowned as the city’s vibrant creative hub. The venue choice reflects Qatar’s growing commitment to becoming a regional and international center for art, culture, and innovation.
With this landmark expansion, Art Basel Qatar is expected to bring together leading international galleries, artists, collectors, and cultural tastemakers—offering a unique blend of global art dialogue and rich regional perspectives. The fair will spotlight emerging voices from the Middle East alongside renowned names from the international art scene, further solidifying Doha’s place on the global cultural map.
