1-Your journey spans both fashion and jewelry — how did you first discover your passion for jewelry design, and what inspired you to launch your creative path in this world?

My journey with jewelry began long before it became my profession. I initially trained in a completely different field, but everything changed when I started working with one of Beirut’s most renowned jewelers. From that moment on, jewelry became my world.

What began as a profession quickly turned into a love story — a deep, enduring passion that I could never walk away from. I can give up many things, but jewelry is not one of them.

In 2010, I took the step of launching my own space, where I design and present my creations — a natural extension of a relationship built on passion, craftsmanship, and devotion.

2-Your jewelry pieces are frequently described as artful and expressive, often merging classic gemstones with bold craftsmanship. How do you approach the creative process behind each piece?

Each piece is entirely unique — no two creations are ever the same. I never return to recreate a design, as most of my work begins with something existing, something with a story of its own.

That is precisely what I love about the process. Even if I wanted to repeat a piece, I couldn’t. Every design carries its own personality, free from the ordinary, and rooted in timelessness.

These are pieces meant to be worn again and again, never losing their charm or meaning. They become part of the woman who wears them — a reflection of her individuality — evoking that quiet moment of confidence where she feels, “This is me. I deserve this.”

3-Many high-profile women — from actresses to influencers — have worn your creations. How do you balance creating something personal for a client while maintaining your brand’s unique voice?

Many women — both in Lebanon and internationally — wear my designs, including public figures and celebrities. Yet what suits one woman does not necessarily suit another, and that distinction is essential to my work.

Some women naturally gravitate toward softer, more feminine expressions — floral details and curved silhouettes enhance their presence. For others, those elements simply don’t reflect who they are. Style must feel instinctive, not imposed.

I pay close attention to every detail: her hair, what she is wearing, the occasion, and whether the piece is meant for day or evening. Her skin tone as well…

4-You seamlessly blend tradition with modernity. In your view, how does contemporary jewelry design honor cultural heritage while remaining relevant to today’s global fashion scene?

I have always been drawn to vintage aesthetics — particularly Art Nouveau and Art Deco. These styles feel inherently classic to me; they represent the foundation of timeless design. Gold, of course, plays a central role as well. For this reason, I strive to ensure that every piece is classic at its core.

Truly modern designs often reach a point where they feel overdone or dated. By contrast, when a piece is grounded in a vintage or classic foundation — enhanced with a contemporary twist, such as an unexpected stone or a touch of color — it retains its relevance over time.

I believe in balancing what is evolving with what is enduring, but the base must always remain classic. My clients span different ages, and that matters deeply to me. Designs that are overly modern tend to have a limited lifespan, which is why I consciously avoid them. In doing so, I ensure that each piece can be worn and cherished for years, regardless of a woman’s age.

5-Could you share a memorable moment or milestone from Adora Boutique that profoundly shaped you as a designer or entrepreneur?

I’ve become closely associated with green stones — a signature that dates back to the very first time Rabaa Al Zayat wore one of my pieces. Since then, green has remained an unmistakable part of my identity as a designer.

Green stones go far beyond emeralds; there is a rich spectrum of shades and variations, each with its own character and beauty. If I were to be specific, it’s the green earrings that have truly become my hallmark.

6-Gemstones play a starring role in your collections. What draws you to particular stones — and do certain gems hold personal meaning for you?

When it comes to stones, they are all deeply personal to me — each one like a child in its own right. While I love working with all stones, there are naturally some that inspire me more at certain moments.

Pearls, in particular, hold a special place in my work. I’m drawn to the irregular ones — the pearls others might overlook or discard — those considered imperfect or difficult to work with. For me, that challenge is where creativity truly comes alive.

I’m also inspired by red stones, as well as a wide spectrum of colors, including aqua tones. Often, my choice is instinctive: some days call for pearls, others for red stones. Mood, weather, and season all play a role in guiding the creative process.

In summer, I may gravitate toward turquoise or opal. But regardless of time or season, there is one constant in my work — pearls remain my greatest love, all year round.

7-For women investing in fine jewelry today, what advice would you give about choosing pieces that are both timeless and meaningful?

True investment in jewelry is not defined by monetary value alone, but by the rarity and significance of the materials themselves. Stones such as mosaic and other exceptional varieties hold emotional value as well.

8-Looking ahead, what exciting directions or new projects are you exploring next — whether in design, collaborations, or expanding your creative universe?

We have been present at the Doha Jewelry Exhibition — a meaningful milestone in our journey. Today, my focus has shifted more deeply toward Lebanon, where I feel a strong sense of responsibility to nurture, promote, and invest in its creative landscape.

At the same time, our story continues to evolve beyond borders. We are proud to be collaborating with the London-based jewelry brand Jay, opening new dialogues and perspectives, while also maintaining a presence in Cairo through Nora 24 Jewelry. Each city adds a distinct layer to our narrative.

As we look ahead, this year feels guided by optimism, intention, and growth. It is about building meaningful connections, honoring our roots, and moving forward with confidence and positivity.
