This September, Dubai’s futuristic skyline will welcome a culinary concept just as cutting-edge as the city itself. Enter WOOHOO, a restaurant that calls itself “dining in the future,” located just moments from the iconic Burj Khalifa. But what truly sets WOOHOO apart isn’t the view — it’s who’s designing your dinner.
At the heart of WOOHOO is Chef Aiman, a first-of-its-kind large language model trained exclusively for culinary innovation. Named by blending “AI” and “man,” Aiman is built on decades of food science, molecular gastronomy data, and thousands of recipes across global cuisines. While the dishes are still physically prepared by human chefs, virtually everything else — from the menu to the mood — stems from Aiman’s artificial intelligence.
The AI doesn’t taste or smell but instead analyzes ingredients at a molecular level, decoding elements like acidity, umami, and texture to craft unexpected pairings and novel flavor experiences. These prototypes are then refined by WOOHOO’s human culinary team, led by celebrated Dubai-based chef Reif Othman, ensuring that creativity is grounded in taste and craftsmanship.
According to co-founder Ahmet Oytun Cakir, the goal is not to replace the artistry of cooking, but to amplify it. “Chef Aiman is here to collaborate with humans, not compete,” he says. The result? A dining experience that sits at the crossroads of technology and tradition — where algorithms inspire artistry, and AI meets appetite.
With its launch on the horizon, WOOHOO promises more than just a meal — it’s a glimpse into the future of how we experience food.
